EXTERNAL
INTERNAL
External: A ring-shaped stamping with one opening on the circumference. The two ends at the opening are called lugs and flare out slightly allowing for easier installation onto shafts.
Internal: A ring-shaped stamping with one opening on the circumference. The two ends at the opening are called lugs and flare slightly into the groove. When the lugs are released, contact is made with the grooved housing.
Material:
Steel: Carbon spring steel SAE 1060-1090
Stainless: Precipitation Hardened Alloy 15% Chromium, 7% Nickel, 2% Molybdenum
E-RINGS
A semi-circulr stamping with two ends which are set further apart than both internal and external rings. The two ends have flared "prongs" which are substantially wider than the other parts of the ring. A center prong extends from the inside perimeter of the ring, halfway between the two ends. The three prongs, when radially installed, make contact with the bottom of the groove.

TOGGLE BOLT AND WING
Toggle wings are light-duty anchors for use in hollow base material applications. They spread the load over a large area and are more temperature resistant than other hollow anchors. They are single-use anchors.
Material: AISI 1008 or equivalent cold rolled steel
PLASTIC ANCHOR
Plastic anchors are a more economical, light-duty part than steel hollow wall anchors. They can be used in sheetrock, plaster, brick, concrete or tile. The design of the collar allows plastic anchors to also be used in hollow material. For use with self-tapping or wood screws.
Material: Polyvinylchloride or Polyethylene plastic
DROP-IN ANCHOR
Intended for flush mounted, medium to heavy-duty applications in solid material such as stone and concrete. It can be used in, but are not limited to, overhead assenblies such as duct work and pipe hangers because the internal plug holds its position. Can also be used to anchor handrails and floor-mounted stops.
Material:
Anchor Body: AISI 12L14 cold rolled steel
Expander Plug: AISI 12L14/1215 cold rolled steel, case-hardened and tempered
EXPANSION SHIELD ANCHOR
Used in soft masonry with machine screws or machine bolts which are exposed to vibration or side pressure. Can also be used in harder materials, including stone, brick, concrete or block
Material: Expansion shield and not may be made of alloy zinc, brass, malleable iron or steel.
HOLLOW WALL ANCHORS
Steel hollow wall anchors are considered to be light-duty anchors. They require a pre-drilled hole and may be used in drywall, sheetrock, plaster or paneling. When properly installed, they will not crack or crumble the wall material and reist vibration. The machine screw may be removed and inserted multiple times to accomodate an exchange of fixtures.
Material:
Shell: AISI C1008 - 1010 or equivalent cold-rolled steel
Screw: AISI C1010 - 1018 or equivalent cold-rolled steel
LAG SHIELD (LEAD ANCHOR)
Lag shields are medium-duty anchors which expand to fill the area of the pre-drilled hole when a lag screw is tightened into the shield. Extra-long sizes are for use in mortar or brick. Standard lengths are intended for use in concrete. They can be used in solid or hollow material and are more resistant to temperature fluctuations and rust than other light-duty anchors.
Material: Die-cast zinc
PLASTIC TOGGLE
When a tapping screw is driven into the toggle, the legs collapse which form a tongue. As the screw is driven through the body, it pulls in and expands the legs. Plastic toggles are intended for lightweight duty in hollow walls (wallboard or plaster). The anchor remains in place even after the screw is removed.
Material: High strength nylon
WEDGE ANCHORS
These are heavy-duty, non-bottom bearing anchors of greater shear strength than other light and medium-duty expansion anchors. The design of the expansion clip assures full contact with the masonry. Wedge anchors withstand temperatures fluctuations well. For best performance, minimum anchor spacing should be 10 hole diameters and minimum edge distance be 5 hole diameters.
Material:
Anchor Bolt: AISI 1215-12L14 or equivalent free-machine carbon steel
Clip: AISI C1010-1018 or equivalent carbon steel
Nut: ASTM A-563 Grade-A carbon steel
Washer: AISI C1010-1018 or equivalent carbon steel
MACHINE SCREW ANCHORS
A caulking type anchor which provides a quick setting in brick, concrete or stone. The lead shield's maleability enable it to fill uneven or irregular spots in the hole. When tamped, the expansion sleeve holds the expander inside the hole in the masonry, equally distributing the load around the anchor. Fixtures can be removed without sacrificing holding power.
Material:
Cone: May be one of the following materials: Brass, Malleable Iron, Steel or Die Cast Zinc Alloy
Expander Shield: Lead or 3-5% Antimonial Lead Alloy
L-ANCHORS
L-Anchors are preset into concrete. After curing, the threaded portion stands out from the concrete and is used to fasten down machinery, equipment, etc.
Material:
Steel - Stainless - other Alloys

Phillips is the most popular style in the industry. The reduced diameter variety is recommended for installing drywall or particle board screws. Power bits are used with power driven tools. Insert bits are ideal for hand drivers, or may be used in conjunction with bit holders in power drivers. Extra hard bits are used specifically with case hardened screws.
Material: Chrome vanadiun tool steel
Slotted bits require less downward pressure to drive parts than those with cross-recessed openings. It is important to choose the proper fitting blade to minimize slippage.
Material: Chrome vanadium tool steel
Torx-Equivalent bits offer a positive-engaging, fast-locating method of transmitting torque and optimizing worher efficiency. The positive torque control adds to the bit's drive life.
Material:Chrome vanadium tool steel
Pozidriv-equivalent bits have an eight-bar pattern as opposed to Phillips bits which have a four-bar pattern. The extra bars provide greater torque with less cam-out. They are for use with Pozidriv-Equivalent screws.
Material: Chrome vanadium tool steel
Square recess bits are popular in the furniture, mobile home and recreational vechicle industries. They are used in many overhead installations. They increase productivity with torque transmission and resist cam-out.
Material:Chrome vanadium tool steel
Power Bits are available in all drive styles
Nutsetters are used to drive hex head tapping screws and machine screws. They are magnetic to provide excellent tool-to-fastener holding power. They are popular in prefabricated home and metal building construction.
Material: 50BV30 steel (similar to SAE 6150)
